Zomato Changes Its Stock Name to Eternal, Keeps App as Zomato

Zomato’s now called Eternal Ltd on the stock market after the Ministry of Corporate Affairs said okay, but the food delivery app will still go by Zomato.
On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Zomato swapped its company name to Eternal Ltd on the stock exchange, thanks to a nod from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on March 20. No stress—the Zomato app and food delivery name are staying put; it’s just the company’s official name and stock ticker that’s now Eternal.
By 2:45 PM that day, Eternal Ltd’s shares were down 1.7%, hanging around Rs 211.50. Last month, Zomato’s shareholders voted yes to this name switch with a special poll.
Back in February, CEO Deepinder Goyal told shareholders, “Our board likes this idea, and I’m asking you to support it too. If it happens, our company site will change from zomato.com to eternal.com, and our stock ticker will update.” He said it all kicked off when they bought Blinkit, their speedy delivery service that’s now a huge part of their plans.
“When we picked up Blinkit, we started using ‘Eternal’ inside the company to keep it separate from the Zomato app,” Goyal explained. “We decided we’d make Eternal the public name once something other than Zomato became a big growth piece. Blinkit’s that piece now, so we’re renaming the company—not the app—to Eternal Ltd.”
